TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Tuesday the budget for research projects will be increased in the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2010-2015).

“The system’s general policy for the next 20 years would be adopted according to the 20-year Outlook Plan which will focus on science more than trade, industry, and agriculture,” Rafsanjani told the 48th conference of Iranian Dental Association.
He said, the fifth development plan will give the Iranian scientists more opportunity for research.
Rafsanjani, who also heads the Assembly of Experts, expressed concern about the problems Iranian researchers are facing in the country.
